The ambitious new track from Ben Gregory sees the artist collaborate with the Czech National Ballet for a sprawling 10-minute epic. ‘blue sea blue’ is the very definition of a musical journey; taking us from the electronic pulses of its opening, through tender acoustic moments and a dark recollection of an ambulance ride to hospital during a psychiatric episode, and back to the transcendence of its climax. He explains that the track, which features a moving ballet-centred video directed by Natàlia Pagès, is an “attempt to explore the conditions of modernity that propel people towards psychic pain and illness. The numb ache where constant stimulation meets inescapable boredom. The simultaneous death of community and of solitude.” This is the third single from his upcoming debut album, Episode, which is due for release on April 7th, 2023. -Dan Peeke
